About Amotekun Corps

The Ondo State Amotekun Corps was established on 4th March 2020 through a law passed by the Ondo State House of Assembly, with an amendment on 13th July 2022. The Agency plays a major role in strengthening security across the state and the South-West.

Its key objectives include:

1. Intelligence & Security Operations

Gathering and analysing security information for tactical and strategic operations, as well as investigating and prosecuting suspects.

2. Collaboration With Other South-West Security Agencies

Working with Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Lagos to curb kidnapping, terrorism, vandalism, farm destruction, human trafficking, cultism, sea piracy, oil bunkering and other crimes.

3. Protecting Lives and Property

Ensuring communities, farms, waterways, roads and forests are safe for daily economic and social activities.

4. Ensuring Safe Travel Across the State

Providing security across highways, inner roads, remote communities, forests and coastal areas.

Amotekun Recruitment 2025 (BR05): Who Can Apply?

The State Government has approved recruitment of new regular officers into the Corps.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

General Requirements

1. Indigene / Residency Requirement

You must be:

  • An indigene of Ondo State; or
  • A resident of Ondo State for at least 10 years, and of Yoruba extraction.

You must also provide:

  • Local Government of Origin certificate
  • Evidence of development levy payment for at least 3 years
  • National ID Card or Voter’s Card

2. Relevant Experience

Applicants with experience in any of the following fields have an advantage:

  • Local hunting
  • Mechanical/automobile engineering
  • Building and construction
  • Plumbing & fittings
  • Welding & fabrication
  • Tailoring
  • Electrical & electronics
  • Painting
  • Trade Test in driving or Works Superintendent Course
  • ICT skills (Graphics, Web Design)
  • And other related skills

3. Age & Health Requirements

  • Must be 20 years and above
  • Must provide recent proof of physical and mental fitness from a Government Hospital.

4. Good Character & Community Endorsement

You must present endorsements from:

  • A Notary Public, and
  • Chairman of Local Government Traditional Council or Justice of the Peace (JP)

You also need:

  • Proof of living in Ondo State for at least 10 years
  • Proof of current residence for minimum of 3 years
  • Attestation from a Community Development Association member
