What is Oyo State Bursary?

Oyo State bursary is the Oyo state government’s scheme to financially assist final year students of Oyo state origin in the universities (excluding Law students) and HND programmes. It aims to help alleviate the problem of educational financing especially as the final year of study gulps considerable expenses.

The Oyo State Government has successfully concluded the disbursement of ₦555 million in bursary awards to 2,950 final-year students across various higher institutions in Nigeria. This initiative underscores Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to supporting education and alleviating financial burdens for students of Oyo State origin.

Breakdown of Beneficiaries

A total of 2,950 students successfully met the eligibility criteria and were awarded the bursary. Among them, 105 are Medical and Clinical students, while 4 are from Maritime and Aviation studies. The remaining beneficiaries comprise final-year students from various polytechnics and universities.
