Getting a prepaid metre in Ibadan through the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) is easy. All you have to do is follow the steps highlighted in this article.
A prepaid metre gives you a big leverage in the increasingly costly electricity industry in Nigeria. It eliminates estimated billing thus allowing customers gain control over their electricity consumption.
IBEDC presently offers prepaid meters under the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) scheme, which aims to accelerate metering across Nigeria. MAP is a scheme approved by NERC for customers that are willing to make upfront payments for meters.
The National Mass Metering Program (NMMP) is another intervention of the Federal Government which seeks to facilitate the supply of meters to customers. Both MAP and NMMP are run by the electricity distribution companies concurrently.
