Note that you have to get to the station as early as you can as you will have to queue on end to get the train tickets.

Visit the NRC web portal for Lagos – Ibadan train tickets https://nrc.gsds.ng/

Register an account with your email and your chosen password.

An activation link will be sent to your e-mail. You will then need to click this link to activate your account. You then have to log in again using the supplied email and password.

Step-by-step guide to booking on the web portal

Select your Originating Station (From), Destination Station (To) and date using the dropdown menu .

Click Find My Train. This allows you confirm availability of a train for that route at that particular moment.

Select your time choice (Morning or Evening); and also your choice class (First class, Business class or Standard class). Note that first class is the costliest and standard the cheapest.

Select a coach. This is the order of the vehicles from the first to the last.

Choose desired available seat. Do you want a window view or a back seat? A clear graphical illustration of the coach helps you select seats. Taken seats are coloured red while available ones are green.

Select Passenger Type (Adult or Child). Interestingly, it’s the same price for both passenger types. Click ‘For Yourself’ to skip the next step. Otherwise, go to the next step. To book for someone else, the ‘For Yourself’ button shows For Another. You may also click ‘Add New Passenger’ after selecting a seat for the new passenger.

– Enter passenger details such as name, NIN, email and phone number.

– Apply voucher if available.

Please note that a convenience fee of ₦234 is charged and added to the ₦3600 standard fee, ₦422 for the ₦6000 business class, ₦585 on ₦9000 first class.

Your seat is thus reserved for the next 10 minutes while you process the payment.

A Paystack gateway then opens allowing you to pay seamlessly using your card, bank transfer, bank account, USSD, Visa QR or Opay.

Download and save or print the generated receipt and ticket details afterwards.
