NRC Adds Extra Lagos–Ibadan Train Trips for Eid Ul Kabir

As Eid Ul Kabir approaches, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced additional trips on the Lagos – Ibadan train service to accommodate the surge in travel demand. In a press release dated 4th June 2025, the NRC confirmed extra services scheduled specifically for Thursday, 5th June 2025.

Extra Trips on the Lagos – Ibadan Train Route for Eid Ul Kabir

According to the NRC, these extra trips are being introduced to ensure Muslim faithful and other passengers can enjoy smooth travel during the festive season. The Lagos to Ibadan train schedule for that day now includes:

  • 8:00 AM
  • 1:55 PM (Additional Trip)
  • 4:00 PM

For the Ibadan to Lagos train, the revised schedule includes:

  • 8:00 AM
  • 11:03 AM (Additional Trip)
  • 4:46 PM (Note: previously scheduled for 4:00 PM)

These adjustments are aimed at ensuring more people can travel comfortably and safely during one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar.

Impact on Other Train Routes

To make room for this festive adjustment, routine maintenance scheduled for the same day on the Warri-Itakpe corridor has been postponed to Sunday, 8th June 2025. NRC also assures travelers on the Abuja-Kaduna (AKTS) route that their service will continue as scheduled, with additional coaches to manage the increased passenger load.
