Where is the University of Ibadan located?

The University of Ibadan is located on a very large swathe of land that takes in quite a number of areas in Ibadan. It covers places like Samonda, Agbowo, Ajibode, and Abadina, to mention a few. It is on the Oduduwa Road after Bodija Market, en route Ojoo – Moniya.

Coming to University of Ibadan (UI) from Lagos

If you’re entering Ibadan from Lagos, especially via the Ibadan Toll Gate, you have two main options:

Option 1: Toll Gate → Iwo Road → Iyana Agbowo → UI Gate
This is the fastest and most straightforward route to the University of Ibadan from Lagos.
From Toll Gate, take a taxi to Iwo Road.
From Iwo Road, take another ride to Iyana Agbowo.
From Iyana Agbowo, cross the road and take a bike, Marwa (tricycle), or cab to UI Gate.
If you’re driving, just follow the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and ask for Iyana Agbowo at any point. From there, you can ask and be directed to the main UI Gate.

Option 2: Toll Gate → Challenge → Bere → UI Gate
This is longer and not advisable especially during peak hours.
You’ll face multiple turns and possible traffic at Challenge, and Bere.
From Challenge, take a cab, bike or Marwa straight to Bere. Then take a cab, bike or Marwa to UI.

This route may suit those familiar with inner Ibadan roads, but for new visitors, Option 1 is highly recommended.

Coming from Abeokuta to UI

You can enter Ibadan from Abeokuta through two major points: Apata and Challenge

Option 1: Apata → Dugbe → Mokola → Sango → UI Gate
This is more direct and easier to navigate, especially if you know how to get to Dugbe.
From Dugbe, just take any vehicle going to Sango or Mokola, then hop on a bike or cab to UI Gate.

Option 2: Challenge → Bere → UI Gate
Same caution as from Lagos. Bere is a popular transport hub, but this route has higher traffic risk.

From Ife, Osogbo, Akure, Ondo, Port Harcourt, Warri, Benin and other parts of South West, South East and South South.

From Iwo Road, take a vehicle to Iyana Agbowo, then proceed to UI Gate with a Marwa, bike or cab.

From the North (Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Abuja, Ilorin, etc.) to the University of Ibadan

If your bus drops you at:

   Take a Marwa, bike or cab straight to UI Gate— it’s a short ride.

Coming from Anywhere in Ibadan to University of Ibadan

If you’re within Ibadan already, it depends on which of the following entry points are closest to you:
